iContact versus Constant Contact

Here's an update to the very popular post I wrote a year ago about my in-depth comparison of the two most popular email marketing services. Basically, I wanted to compare iContact to ConstantContact.

I'm happy to report that iContact is now # 1 according to the 2008 report by Top Ten Reviews. So now there's really no reason not to go with them. More importantly, I'M still very happy with them.

For some reason, A-Squared's web surfing protection program has branded iContact as a spammer/phisher, but did not do this to ConstantContact. I'm on iContact now and I love it, but I'm worried that our mails might be getting blocked if some antivirus/antimalware programs think they're dangerous. Have you run into any issues with this?

No, I haven't run into this. Have you checked your list's bounce rate? Sometimes, if it's high (i.e. your list is old or you get a lot of Unsubscribes) you can run afoul of firewalls. Good incentive for making sure your list is opt-in (which I'm sure you already do) and keeping the list up-to-date. That means checking for Bounces and deleting failed/old addresses so that they don't continue to bounce. Your goal should be zero Bounce rate.
